Photographic interlayering is a technique that embeds an image between two layers of tempered glass. The glass panels can be manufactured in sizes large enough to serve as partitions or windows, or in smaller sizes to show as free-standing pieces.
Images shown in glass are more vibrant because light is transmitted through the image, rather than being reflected from a surface, as with a flat photograph.
The first two images show a 48" X 48" tempered glass photograph incorporated into a shower surround in a private residence in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The third image is a free-standing glass photograph, 13" X 19", mounted in a blue steel frame with base.
